Alice and the Garden

CHAPTER 19: Lovely Garden and Bright Flowers

Post Text:
"...she tried the little golden key in the lock, and to her great delight it fitted! Alice opened the door and found that it led into a small passage, not much larger than a rat-hole: she knelt down and looked along the passage into the loveliest garden you ever saw. How she longed to get out of that dark hall, and wander about among those beds of bright flowers and those cool fountains, but she could not even get her head though the doorway; `and even if my head would go through,' thought poor Alice, `it would be of very little use without my shoulders."-- Chapter 1, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland

This month on Altered Alice, we were given four really great digital images to play with... wow... what fun I had...The Stamping Boutique really went all out with the Design Team this month... and I thank you for these GREAT Digi's....  They are such fun to play with....

I didn't know what I was going to do with them... but all of a sudden I realized that I wanted to make a picture window type of thingy... and so I made this style book... each digital was put into a special section...  and then I attached them all... and put covers on the front and back of the book... The back cover, as you will see, is viewed when looking at the first  two sections... okay... then I had to figure out who was going to be next to who... LOL... I sound like I am planning the seating arrangements for a wedding...  LOL... anyway... it is very important... so I put the Red Queen and Alice together... and the Mad Hatter and CC to together... you know who CC is... it is the Cheshire CAT.... CC....  So in the initial planning.... I also decided that I would make a special frame for each section too... so each section has a Zen Tangled frame...designed just for them...

Also on each panel beside the section there is also a panel of pretty flowers...  and each section also has different flowers... Alice even has a blue bird.. don't you think of Blue when you think of Alice??? I do...  So I had to put this cute little blue bird with Alice...

And the violets...  they just needed to be with Alice too... I used Liquid Pearls for the centers of the violets... and then colored the flowers and the leaves with Twinkling H20's...
Since there are two sides... each one had to be different too...  as Alice has been changing... I also allowed the panels to all be different and change too...

So Alice needed a sweet little frame around her...  and I added some pretty little butterflies to the frame...

Of course each frame had to be made to look a little like it was vintage .... so I colored the edges with a foam Blending tool and used Bundled Sage Distress ink... and then I used a stamp by Tim Holtz for the crackly lines...  I did this on each frame... so that at least that matched... as not too much matches...  So that is Alice's section...

Now for the Red Queen of Hearts... she is so very important ... and demands the very best...  so I had to go a little extra for her...

Her Section of course is the same size and all.. but I spend a lot of time on the woven braid that I created on her frame... and then I added what else... but little red flowers...  and then the leaves also had her color on them...  little red dots...  and of course double layered red flowers...

I did use my Inktense colored Pencils on all the coloring of everything on the digitals and also my tangles... (doodles)

Then I had the two males... the Mad Hatter was also needing some special attention... so I drew some tea cups and tea pots all around his frame...  and then added some daisies... now if you count the petals on the daisy.. you will find that there are 10... and then the leaves... there are 6... just the numbers that are on his hat...

I had to color the digital of the Mad Hatter with wild colors... as he is wild... just look at his hat... who ever heard of a door in a hat... only he would wear a hat like that... LOL... so uniquely the Mad Hatter...  inside the door... well inside the door there are Mushrooms...  did he ever visit the caterpillar???  I wonder...
left side of the section
ON his flowers I put a lot of dots...  and the same on the leaves...

right side of the section

And of course his tea cups and saucers don't match... nor do the tea pots... he was very wild...  his hair even shows that....  WILD...

And Finally Mr CC.... Cheshire Cat himself...  Now when I think of him... I think of Yellow... dont' you??? His smile has always been yellow... and his coat???? Well that is sort of toss up... as I have seen him in all different colors... LOL... as he is as crazy as the Mad Hatter... do you think that these characters are any different than people you know???  Wow... think about that one next time you see some one that reminds you of one of these characters... LOL... write it down and create a special something, using that character as them.. so much fun...
So Mr CC... he had his frame monogrammed...with CC... can you find it... of course you can...  and then I added a ruffle... as he just seemed like the kind of cat that would go all out if he could find the right clothes...

And his flowers had to be Yellow.. and the leaves striped like he is..

He is such a funny kittie... and here he is with a funny hat on... and has a spider hanging from it... how much fun is that one...

Okay... now that I have all the sections done... I now need to glue them all together...  Which I did... as you will see.. but first I will show you how I made the covers... there are two... but a little bit different in that the back cover is visible when you open the book...  or the sections...  you will see what I am talking about...
words are not good in explaining this one... that is for sure..

I wanted to put some chip board flowers on the cover... so I painted them... then I had this red sheet of paper... or splattered red sheet of paper... SO what I did was to add some more color to the paper... and it looked like this...The gold is really shimmering... as I used some perfect pearls in my Mini mister and created a very bright gold and green paint...  even though you can see the green... it is there... it is the base color of the gold here...

Then I used my heat gun to dry the paper... and using a stencil and my Pearl white dabber, I created some leaves on the paper...  love this effect...  Then I took a few rubber stamps with words and stamped all around the paper...
Here is a picture of the flowers drying... they are so cute...
Then I had found this heart with flowers at my local $$$ Store... and I painted it RED  ( with alcohol inks.. which will color anything that paint will not... love that stuff... )   ... to stand for the RED QUEEN of Hearts...  and added the flowers in the center...
If you look closely you will see Alice looking thru the keyhole of the funny room... and seeing the most wonderful garden her eyes have ever seen... she must take another look..

When you look at the top of the book, you will see all the sections closed... but when you open it... oh wow...

Here is what the back of the book looks like... and the digital is wonderfully ALICE...  sitting in a tea cup, surrounded with mushrooms... so I added a few more chipboard ones...

The Mad Hatter is close by... as his hat is there...

When you see the front of the book... you see the cover... and also the sections of Alice and the Queen together...
If you look closely you will see that the other side has more sections... that is where the mad hatter and Mr CC are hiding...

Here is the section on the back side of this book.. where you will see Mr CC and the Mad Hatter...  in all their glory...

I do hope that you have enjoyed this journey thru my garden book... I love to make flowers as you all know... and this was a glorious way to do that...  I loved using these fun digitals... and Thank You The Stamping Boutique for them...  I will use them often to create wonderful Alice in Wonderland projects...

Thanks for stopping in for a visit... and have a happy day creating with Alice and her Gang...

Love, Light and Peace....Bonnie
